Square Enix and Disney has confirmed a collaboration between Hikaru Utada and Skrillex for Kingdom Hearts 3 opening theme song titled “Face My Fears”. The opening theme will be coming out on January 18, 2019, along side “Don’t Think Twice”.

Poo Bear is also attached to the collaboration as the producer for the opening theme song.

Via Press Release

Skrillex, a long-time and self-professed fan of the KINGDOM HEARTS series, originally intended to remix the previously revealed Hikaru Utada track, Don’t Think Twice. However, owing to the pair’s friendship, this developed into the new and original collaboration, Face My Fears, to celebrate the game’s release.

Set to be released alongside Don’t Think Twice on January 18, the opening theme song, Face My Fears, has also been produced in collaboration with Poo Bear, the acclaimed record producer who previously produced Justin Bieber’s multi-platinum selling single, What Do You Mean?

Coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Kingdom Hearts 3 is launching on January 25 in Japan and on January 29 in North America and Europe.

Kingdom Hearts 3 – TGS 2018 Stage Show Reveals New Gameplay & Information

Today, Square Enix held a stage presentation for Kingdom Hearts 3 at Tokyo Game Show 2018. The stage show featured numerous gameplay clips of Sora fighting, “summon” links, mini-games, and more. If you don’t want to see the Sora and Aqua clip, we suggest that you don’t scroll down to the very bottom of the page to see it.

During the show, director Tetsuya Nomura and co-director Tai Yasue answered a couple interesting questions that fans were wondering. When asked if this will be the final Kingdom Hearts game, Nomura said that this isn’t the end of the series, though it will be the conclusion of the Xehanort Saga.

As expected from a title in the Kingdom Hearts series, the upcoming entry will contain a secret ending, which Nomura did not give any details due to spoilers. He did mentioned that they are trying to do something different, and are thinking of making a DLC that has a secret ending of some kind.

Regarding online elements, Nomura said that they do not plan to add any until after the completion of the game. The focus was to finish developing the core-game before deciding if they intend to add online features.

After the show concluded, Tai Yasue told fans that the game will feature over 10 worlds. The demos only showcased roughly 1/4 or 1/3 of the overall size of each world (via @aibo_ac7/).

Kingdom Hearts 3 will feature over twenty mini-games. One of them shows Sora cooking with Remy assisting him.

For those wondering how old Ventus, Aqua, Tera and Xehanort were in Birth By Sleep, we finally got an official answer to that.

  • Ventus – 16 years Old.
  • Aqua – About 18 years Old.
  • Terra – Around 20 years old.
  • Young Xehanort – 18-20 years old.
  • Xehanort – 80 years or something (Everyone laughed)

Next year, A collaboration event between Square Enix and Tokyo Skytree will be held. The “Tower of Light and Darkness” will begin from January 8, 2019 and conclude on March 3rd. Two different Keyblades, “Soul Eater” and “Oblivion” are included, and he also comes with two wooden sword parts that you can use with him and Nendoroid Sora (sold separately) to recreate the scene from the game’s tutorial! The Nendoroid is also fully articulated, allowing you to pose him exactly to your liking.

In addition, you can use both Nendoroids to recreate the final scene of the game, when they close the Door to Darkness, by using a door in your own home! Be sure to add him to your collection!

For those who are also interested in picking up the Sora Nendoroid, that will be out sometime in December this year. More details can be viewed here.
