In an interview with VGR, Final Fantasy XIV director Naoki Yoshida mentioned that the team are still interesting in bringing the game to as many players possible. With this in mind, they want to possibly increase the amount of consoles where Final Fantasy XIV can be played on. Discussions with Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony to allow cross-play functionality to happen is still an “ongoing” discussion, Yoshida said. He hopes he is able to announce something in the future if possible.
If you are wondering what is happening with the collaboration with Final Fantasy XV, the director told Gamer Escape that unfortunately he cannot give an update on that and asks if fans continue to remain patient for it.
